Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

:} While inviting the disbelievers to monotheism, the hardships that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) endured, and the pains he suffered due to their stubbornness, obstinacy, and persistence, and the way they remained firm upon polytheism even after being rendered speechless by the clear proofs of monotheism—for all this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was given comfort and commanded to supplicate to Allah and entrust the entire matter to Him, for He alone is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, capable of all things, and Knower of all the apparent and hidden states of the creation. Therefore, by means of these Names and Attributes, supplicate to Him: when even in a matter as clear and evident as Your monotheism, disputes arise, and the majesty of the Creator of the heavens and the earth and the Knower of the seen and unseen is no longer held in hearts, then it is only to You that we cry for help; You alone will decide these disputes.

➋ Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman narrates that I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand for night prayer, with what would he begin his prayer? She replied: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would rise at night, he would begin his prayer with this supplication: Lord of Jibreel, Mikaeel, and Israfeel! O Creator of the heavens and the earth! O Knower of the seen and unseen! You alone will decide among Your servants concerning that in which they differ. Guide me, by Your permission, to the truth in those matters in which there is disagreement, for You guide whom You will to the straight path.”

Abu Rashid Hubrani says: I said to Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them): Relate to us something from what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he brought out a book and said: This is the book which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) dictated to me. I looked and it was written in it that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “O Messenger of Allah! Teach me what I should recite in the morning and evening.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Abu Bakr! O Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen! There is no deity worthy of worship except You. O Lord and Sovereign of all things! I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self, from the evil of Satan and his polytheism (shirk), and from committing any evil against my own soul or bringing harm to any Muslim.’”
