Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 26) ➊ { فَاَذَاقَهُمُ اللّٰهُ الْخِزْيَ فِي الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا … :} In the world, Allah made them taste disgrace through these punishments, and the punishment of the Hereafter is far greater than this, because the fire of the Hereafter is seventy (70) times hotter than the fire of this world. Moreover, the punishment of this world is bound to end, but the punishment of the Hereafter is everlasting. In addition, the punishment of the Hereafter is also far greater in terms of disgrace. See Surah Ha Mim As-Sajdah (16).
{ لَوْ كَانُوْا يَعْلَمُوْنَ:} That is, they did not even know that the punishment of the Hereafter is far greater, otherwise they would not have been fearless of it. It is understood from this that if they disobeyed despite having knowledge, then in reality that was not knowledge but ignorance, because knowledge is that which motivates one to act.
