Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

{ قَالَ يٰۤاِبْلِيْسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ اَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ:} This verse proves the honor and superiority of Adam (peace be upon him), because Allah Almighty has clearly stated that I created him with My two hands. Some people deny the hands of Allah Almighty and interpret them, but when He Himself has mentioned His hands, how can it be denied? For details, see the explanation of Allah Almighty’s statement in Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse (64): « بَلْ يَدٰهُ مَبْسُوْطَتٰنِ ».

{ اَسْتَكْبَرْتَ اَمْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْعَالِيْنَ : ’’ اَسْتَكْبَرْتَ ‘‘} Originally it was {’’أَ اِسْتَكْبَرْتَ‘‘}, but after the arrival of the interrogative hamzah, there was no longer a need for the connecting hamzah, so it was omitted. See details in Surah Al-Hijr (32 to 40).
