Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 65) ➊ { قُلْ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنَا مُنْذِرٌ …:} At the beginning of the surah, the disbelievers’ astonishment and denial regarding the Messengerhood of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Oneness of Allah, the only true deity, was mentioned, as well as their saying: “Does he invite us to worship only one deity instead of all our many deities?” and “How did revelation descend upon him while all our chiefs are present?” Rather, they said, “He is a sorcerer and a liar.” Upon these statements of the disbelievers, their denial of the Resurrection, and their mocking of it, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was commanded to be patient. Now, at the end of the surah, this subject is being repeated: that you should say to them, “I am only a warner—not a sorcerer, not a liar, nor anything else. I am only a warner because glad tidings are for those who accept, and deniers are only warned.”

{ وَ مَا مِنْ اِلٰهٍ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ :} Only Allah Almighty is worthy of worship. In the word {’’ اللّٰهُ ‘‘}, although all the attributes of Allah Almighty are included, because it is the proper noun of the true deity, here, as proof of His being the only deity, five of His attributes are specifically mentioned. The first attribute is {’’ الْوَاحِدُ ‘‘}, meaning everything besides Him is paired, only He is alone. {’’ الْقَهَّارُ ‘‘} is the One of great majesty; no one can stand before His wrath.
