Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, - i.e.) the remembrance of the Home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allâh and to do good deeds for the Hereafter].

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 46) {اِنَّاۤاَخْلَصْنٰهُمْبِخَالِصَةٍذِكْرَىالدَّارِ :} The special quality found in these prophets was first kept ambiguous by saying, “We chose them with a special attribute,” so that eagerness and curiosity would arise as to what that special attribute is. Then it was explained that this attribute is the remembrance of the original home. The original home refers to the Hereafter, because the world is not a home but a passage. The special characteristic of these prophets was that they always remembered the Hereafter and kept it in view in every matter; there was not the slightest trace of worldly greed in them, and they always reminded people of the Hereafter as well.
