Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 6) {اِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنْيَا بِزِيْنَةٍ الْكَوَاكِبِ:’’ الدُّنْيَا ‘‘ ’’اَلْأَدْنٰي‘‘} is its feminine form, the closest one, meaning the sky that is visible from our earth. On {’’زِيْنَةٌ‘‘}, the tanween is for indefiniteness, therefore the translation is "a unique adornment." {’’ الْكَوَاكِبِ ‘‘ ’’زِيْنَةٌ‘‘} is in apposition, which has been considered in the translation. It is understood that among the countless wisdoms behind the creation of stars, one is the adornment and beautification of the lowest heaven. If there were no stars, neither would the sky have this beauty nor would there be light on the earth. That is why Allah Almighty has also called them lamps: «وَ لَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيْحَ وَ جَعَلْنٰهَا رُجُوْمًا لِّلشَّيٰطِيْنِ وَ اَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيْرِ » [ الملک : ۵ ] "And surely We have adorned the nearest sky with lamps and We have made them missiles for the devils, and We have prepared for them the punishment of the blazing Fire."
