Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 4) {اِنَّاِلٰهَكُمْلَوَاحِدٌ :} That is, the angels who run the system of the universe by Allah’s command, who stand in rows before Him, and by whose rebuke the affairs of the heavens and the earth are managed, and who send down revelation upon the prophets and recite the remembrance of Allah— all these angels are witnesses and proof that the true deity of the universe is One. Because if He were not One, this universe could not remain for even a moment; rather, it would collide and perish, as He said: « لَوْكَانَفِيْهِمَاۤاٰلِهَةٌاِلَّااللّٰهُلَفَسَدَتَا»[ الأنبیاء : ۲۲ ] “If there were in them (the heavens and the earth) other deities besides Allah, they would surely have been corrupted.” Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) has given another very excellent explanation of these three verses; he writes: “The angels stand in rows to listen to Allah’s command, then they rebuke the devils who try to come and listen, then when it has descended, they recite it to one another to convey it.” (Muwadhih) In the following verses, further proofs of this claim are presented.
