Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 28) ➊ { قَالُوْۤا :} means that the weak and the followers will say to their leaders and those who led them astray.
{ اِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَاْتُوْنَنَا عَنِ الْيَمِيْنِ : ’’ الْيَمِيْنِ ‘‘} means oath, right hand, and right side. If its meaning is taken as oath, then it would mean that you used to come to us by way of oaths, that is, you used to swear repeatedly and present yourselves as our well-wishers. And if its meaning is taken as right hand, then it would mean strength, because the Arabs use "yameen" to mean strength. The meaning would be that you used to show force and strength to overawe us and would attack us to mislead us. And if the meaning is right side, then it would mean the side of goodness and virtue, and the meaning would be that you used to come and mislead us from the path of well-wishing, goodness, and the true religion, and used to say that what we are commanding you is goodness and truth. The words of the verse accommodate all three meanings at the same time, and this is the miracle of Allah's speech, because their leaders used all three methods to mislead. The purpose of the weak people is to put the entire responsibility of their misguidance on the leaders, so that they may somehow escape the punishment.
