Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 180 to 182) {سُبْحٰنَرَبِّكَرَبِّالْعِزَّةِعَمَّايَصِفُوْنَ … :} Since in this surah the disbelievers’ evil statements about Allah, such as attributing offspring or partners to Him, are mentioned, therefore at the end, Allah’s purity from all such things is declared. Thus, this is a refutation of their polytheistic beliefs and statements, and after mentioning the conditions of the prophets and their peoples, it is the summary of the entire surah that whatever things these people have fabricated about Allah’s essence and attributes, which imply any defect or shortcoming in Allah’s essence or attributes, Allah is pure from all such defects and shortcomings, because He is the owner of all honor, and peace be upon the messengers that they continued to present the oneness of Allah to their respective peoples despite enduring hardships. And every matter ends upon this that whatever excellence and whatever praise there is, it belongs to Allah, because He alone is the Lord of all the worlds. If anyone else has any excellence, it is also His, because it is granted by Him.
