Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 167 to 170){’’ وَاِنْكَانُوْالَيَقُوْلُوْنَ ‘‘} In reality, it was {’’وَإِنَّهُمْكَانُوْايَقُوْلُوْنَ‘‘}. The proof of this is the "lam" that comes on {’’ لَيَقُوْلُوْنَ ‘‘}, due to which {’’إِنَّ‘‘} was made {’’إِنْ‘‘} and {’’هُمْ‘‘} was omitted. For the explanation of these verses, see Surah Fatir (42) and Surah An'am (156, 157), that is, these people used to say that if a messenger had come to us like the previous people, or if a book had been revealed to us from Allah, then we would have been among Allah's chosen servants. But when this book came to them, they refused to accept it. Now they will soon know the result of this denial.
