سُوْرَةُ الصَّافَّاتِ
Surah As-Saaffaat (37) — Ayah 165
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ ﴿165﴾

And verily, we (angels), we stand in rows (for the prayers as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers);

(Ayah 165) {وَ اِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الصَّآفُّوْنَ :} And we all stand in rows for the worship of Allah Almighty. Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ أَلاَ تَصُفُّوْنَ كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا؟ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ! وَكَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا؟ قَالَ يُتِمُّوْنَ الصُّفُوْفَ الْأُوَلَ، وَيَتَرَاصُّوْنَ فِي الصَّفِّ ] [ مسلم، الصلاۃ، باب الأمر بالسکون في الصلاۃ… : ۴۳۰۔ أبوداوٗد : ۶۶۱ ] "Why do you not form rows as the angels form rows before their Lord?" We said: "O Messenger of Allah! How do the angels form rows before their Lord?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They complete the first rows first and stand closely together in the rows."
