Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

In {فَاِنَّكُمْ وَ مَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ …:’’ عَلَيْهِ ‘‘}, the pronoun refers back to Allah Almighty. {’’فَاتِنِيْنَ‘‘} means those who put to trial, those who mislead. {’’صَالٍ‘‘ صَلِيَ يَصْلٰي صِلِيًّا‘‘} is an active participle from (س) (to enter). That is, O group of disbelievers and polytheists! You and your false deities cannot mislead anyone against Allah Almighty except for the one who has already resolved to enter Hell. You cannot harm His sincere servants in any way. Shah Abdul Qadir writes: "That is, you humans and your devils cannot mislead anyone without Allah's will; only the one will go astray whom He has written as a dweller of Hell." (Mawdhih)
