Surah As-Saaffaat (37) — Ayah 100
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ﴿100﴾

(Ayah 100) {رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ :} From this it is evident that at that time Ibrahim (peace be upon him) did not have any children. Thus, when he became disappointed with his people, he prayed to Allah Almighty: O my Lord! Grant me righteous offspring in exchange for my people and family, who will be my companion, sympathizer, and helper in this foreign land. It should be clear that being righteous is a very high rank among the ranks of a servant, for which Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for himself: « رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ حُكْمًا وَّ اَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالصّٰلِحِيْنَ» [ الشعراء : ۸۳ ] "O my Lord! Grant me wisdom and join me with the righteous." And here, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for his son: «رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ » Yusuf (peace be upon him) prayed for himself: « تَوَفَّنِيْ مُسْلِمًا وَّ اَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالصّٰلِحِيْنَ » [ یوسف : ۱۰۱ ] "Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous." And Sulaiman (peace be upon him) prayed: « وَ اَدْخِلْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِيْ عِبَادِكَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ » [ النمل : ۱۹ ] "And by Your mercy, admit me among Your righteous servants." Because a complete righteous person is one whose every action is correct.
