Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 79) ➊ { قُلْيُحْيِيْهَاالَّذِيْۤاَنْشَاَهَاۤ … :} That is, the One who created these bones at a time when they did not even exist, then put life into them, He will resurrect them again, because recreating is even easier. Although for this All-Powerful, creating the first time and recreating are equally easy. See Surah Ar-Rum (27).
➋ { وَهُوَبِكُلِّخَلْقٍعَلِيْمُ : ’’ خَلْقٍ ‘‘} It can also be a verbal noun, meaning "every kind of creating," and also a passive participle meaning "every creature." If the first meaning is taken, then it means that He knows very well about everything, how to create it, and also how to create it the first time and how to recreate it, so for Him, reviving decayed bones is not difficult at all. If the second meaning is taken, then it means that He knows every single creature, where it is, and after its perishing, where its particles are, so He can gather every particle from its place and resurrect it again. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ كَانَرَجُلٌيُسْرِفُعَلٰینَفْسِهِ،فَلَمَّاحَضَرَهُالْمَوْتُقَالَلِبَنِيْهِإِذَاأَنَامُتُّفَأَحْرِقُوْنِيْثُمَّاطْحَنُوْنِيْثُمَّذَرُّوْنِيْفِيالرِّيْحِ،فَوَاللّٰهِ ! لَئِنْقَدَرَاللّٰهُعَلَيَّلَيُعَذِّبَنِّيْعَذَابًامَاعَذَّبَهُأَحَدًافَلَمَّامَاتَفُعِلَبِهِذٰلِكَ،فَأَمَرَاللّٰهُالْأَرْضَ،فَقَالَاجْمَعِيْمَافِيْكِمِنْهُفَفَعَلَتْفَإِذَاهُوَقَائِمٌ،فَقَالَمَاحَمَلَكَعَلٰیمَاصَنَعْتَ؟قَالَيَارَبِّ! خَشْيَتُكَفَغَفَرَلَهُ ][ بخاري، أحادیث الأنبیاء، باب : ۳۴۸۱ ] "A man used to wrong himself. When his death approached, he said to his sons, 'When I die, burn me, then crush me, then scatter me in the wind, for by Allah! If Allah gets hold of me, He will punish me with a punishment that He has not given to anyone.' So when he died, they did as he had asked. Then Allah commanded the earth, saying, 'Gather whatever is in you of him.' So it did, and he stood up immediately. Allah said, 'What made you do this?' He said, 'O my Lord! Your fear.' So Allah forgave him."
