سُوْرَةُ يٰسٓ
Surah Yaseen (36) — Ayah 30
يَـٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى ٱلْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ﴿30﴾

Alas for mankind! There never came a Messenger to them but they used to mock at him.

(Ayah 30) {يٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ …:} Intense regret over something lost is called "hasrah" (remorse). In {’’ الْعِبَادِ ‘‘}, the "al" (definite article) is for specification; it refers to those servants who kept denying the messengers, and the people of this town are also included among them. This is a depiction of their condition: their state is such that it can only be a matter of regret and sorrow. Whenever a messenger came to them, they kept denying him.
