Have they not travelled in the land, and seen what was the end of those before them - though they were superior to them in power? Allâh is not such that anything in the heavens or in the earth escapes Him. Verily, He is All-Knowing, All-Omnipotent.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 44) ➊ {اَوَ لَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِي الْاَرْضِ …:} For its exegesis, see the exegesis of Surah Ar-Rum, Ayah (9).
{ وَ مَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيُعْجِزَهٗ مِنْ شَيْءٍ …:} That is, in the heavens and the earth, meaning in the entire universe, nothing can render Allah the Exalted Almighty powerless so that He would not be able to seize it, or that after seizing it, it could escape from His grasp.
{اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَلِيْمًا قَدِيْرًا :} Because He has always been All-Knowing and fully Capable over everything, meaning it is not possible that anything could render Him powerless, that He would not be able to seize it because He did not know where it was, or that He knew but did not have the power to seize it. The meaning of "always" is conveyed by the word {’’ كَانَ ‘‘}.
