Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 73) {لِيُعَذِّبَ اللّٰهُ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ …:} In this verse, the consequence of mankind taking on the responsibility of the trust is mentioned. The surah begins with the command, "O Prophet! Fear Allah and do not obey the disbelievers and hypocrites." Then, in the middle of the surah, the betrayals of the hypocrites and their breaking of all covenants made with Allah and the Muslims are mentioned. At the end of the surah, the importance of trust, the punishment for hypocrites and polytheists who betray it, and the reward for the believers who fulfill the right of the trust are mentioned. Some explanation of this has already been covered in the benefit (3) of the previous verse in the words of Shah Abdul Qadir.
