Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم), he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and will be admitted to Paradise).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 71) ➊ { يُّصْلِحْلَكُمْاَعْمَالَكُمْوَيَغْفِرْلَكُمْذُنُوْبَكُمْ :} Two benefits of fearing Allah and speaking straightforward and clear words have been mentioned: one is that Allah will set your deeds right, and the other is that He will cover your sins. Generally, people tell lies and act cunningly and cleverly to fix spoiled matters. Because of their twists and false statements, the listeners become even more agitated and suspicious, as a result of which the matters get even worse and are never resolved. But when a person fears Allah and speaks straightforwardly and clearly, then Allah has promised that all matters will be set right and past sins will also be forgiven. Because straightforward speech removes malice from hearts and becomes a cause for mutual reconciliation, and when one becomes upright, Allah also forgives. ➋ The sermon that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught to be recited at the time of marriage and other needs, he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite four verses in it, two of which are these. Because fearing Allah and speaking straightforwardly is necessary in every matter, especially in the case of husband and wife, its need is even greater, because there is no witness to their matters, only the fear of Allah and straightforward speech can keep their matters right, and even a little cunning and falsehood can destroy mutual trust and ruin the home. ➌ {وَمَنْيُّطِعِاللّٰهَوَرَسُوْلَهٗ … :} Because the real success is attaining Paradise and being saved from Hell, which can only be achieved through obedience to Allah and His Messenger. See Surah An-Nisa (13, 14) and Aal-e-Imran (185).
