Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 48) ➊ {وَ لَا تُطِعِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ وَ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ :} That is, the disbelievers and hypocrites who ask you to compromise, insist that you remain silent over people's disbelief and polytheism, and prevent you from breaking the customs of ignorance—do not listen to them, rather, remain steadfast in the call to truth. This command was given at the beginning of this surah, that is: « يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اتَّقِ اللّٰهَ وَ لَا تُطِعِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ وَ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ » Now, for emphasis, it has been mentioned again. See also Surah Qalam (8 to 15) and Ash-Shura (15).
{ وَ دَعْ اَذٰىهُمْ :} That is, do not care about the harm they cause you because of the call to religion, as He said: « لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِيْۤ اَمْوَالِكُمْ وَ اَنْفُسِكُمْ وَ لَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَ مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ اَشْرَكُوْۤا اَذًى كَثِيْرًا وَ اِنْ تَصْبِرُوْا وَ تَتَّقُوْا فَاِنَّ ذٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْاُمُوْرِ » [ آل عمران : ۱۸۶ ] "Surely you will certainly be tested in your wealth and your lives, and you will certainly hear much hurt from those who were given the Book before you and from those who associate partners with Allah. But if you are patient and become righteous, then surely that is among the matters of determination."
{ وَ تَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ … :} That is, entrust all your affairs to Allah, because whatever is entrusted to Allah, He is sufficient for it.
