Whosoever disbelieves will suffer from his disbelief, and whosoever does righteous good deeds (by practising Islâmic Monotheism), then such will prepare a good place (in Paradise) for themselves (and will be saved by Allâh from His Torment).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 44) {مَنْ كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهٗ … :} In this, the condition of the two separated groups is described: whoever disbelieved, the consequence of his disbelief will be upon him, and those who do righteous deeds are preparing a place of comfort for themselves, or making provisions for themselves in the grave, in Paradise, and even in this world. The mention of other evil deeds is not made along with {’’ كَفَرَ ‘‘}, because after disbelief, no deed is considered at all, as He said: «{ وَ قَدِمْنَاۤ اِلٰى مَا عَمِلُوْا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنٰهُ هَبَآءً مَّنْثُوْرًا [ الفرقان : ۲۳ ] “And We will turn to whatever deeds they did, and We will make them as scattered dust.” And instead of mentioning faith in opposition to disbelief, righteous deeds are mentioned, because faith is also included in righteous deeds, and so that the importance of righteous deeds becomes clear.
