سُوْرَةُ الرُّوْمِ
Surah Ar-Room (30) — Ayah 24
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَيُحْىِۦ بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ ﴿24﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And among His Signs is that He shows you the lightning, for fear and for hope, and He sends down water (rain) from the sky, and therewith revives the earth after its death. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who understand.

(Ayah 24) ➊ { وَ مِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖ يُرِيْكُمُ الْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَّ طَمَعًا :} That is, from the thunder and lightning of the clouds, hope arises that rain will come and crops will be prepared, and on the other hand, there is also fear that lightning might strike, or so much rain might fall that it destroys houses and crops and sweeps everything away.
➋ { وَ يُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَيُحْيٖ بِهِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا :} In this, there is also an argument for life after death, and also that rain occurs only by Allah’s power and His command, not merely by the combination of matter.
➌ { اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَ :} The revival of dead land by rain has been mentioned in several places in the Noble Qur’an as evidence for life after death, and it has been declared a sign for those who use reason and understand, as He said: «{اِعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحْيِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْاٰيٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ }» [ الحدید : ۱۷ ] “Know that Allah gives life to the earth after its death. Surely, We have made the signs clear for you so that you may understand.”
