Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 85) {وَمَنْيَّبْتَغِ …:} That is, after the advent of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), whoever leaves the path of obedience and submission to him and adopts any other path, or continues to follow any previous path, no matter how much of a monotheist he may be and even if he believes in the previous prophets, if he does not believe in Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), then his religiosity will not be accepted by Allah Almighty and he will be unsuccessful and deprived in the Hereafter. It should be clear that although the religion of all the prophets was Islam, after the coming of the last Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Islam is now only the name of following him. Even in the terminology of the Qur'an, Islam now means this, and in this sense, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [مَنْعَمِلَعَمَلاًلَيْسَعَلَيْهِأَمْرُنَافَهُوَرَدٌّ ][مسلم، الأقضیۃ، باب نقض الأحکام الباطلۃ … : 1718/18، عن عائشۃ رضی اللہ عنہا ] "Whoever does any action that is not in accordance with our command, it is rejected."
