Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 22,21){اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَكْفُرُوْنَ … :} In this is the condemnation of the People of the Book, whose entire history bears witness that not only did they refuse to act upon the divine commands, but they also continued to kill the prophets and those who ever presented the call to truth before them, and this is the ultimate limit of arrogance. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever has even a mustard seed’s weight of arrogance in his heart will not enter Paradise.” A man said: “A person likes that his clothes are beautiful and his shoes are good.” So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Arrogance is rejecting the truth and looking down on people.” [مسلم، الإیمان، باب تحریم الکبر و بیانہ : ۹۱، عن ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ ]
And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, the severest punishment will be for the one whom a prophet killed, or who killed a prophet.” [مسند أحمد : 407/1، ح : ۳۸۶۷، عن ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ۔ الصحیحۃ: ۲۸۱ ]
