Surely, those who reject Faith (disbelieve in Allâh and in Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as being Allâh’s Messenger and in all that which he صلى الله عليه وسلم has brought from Allâh), neither their properties, nor their offspring will avail them aught against Allâh. They are the dwellers of the Fire, therein they will abide.[1] (Tafsir At-Tabarî).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. (Ayah 117,116) ➊ {لَنْتُغْنِيَعَنْهُمْاَمْوَالُهُمْ …:} That is, the wealth that was spent and not given for the pleasure of Allah, whether given or not given in the Hereafter, is the same. (Mudhih) Generally, in times of hardship, children are of help to a person, but at that time, the children of the disbelievers will be of no use to them. In the previous verses, the outcome of the good deeds of the believers and the pious was mentioned, that even their smallest good deed will not be wasted, rather, they will receive its full reward. Now, in this verse, the charity and welfare works of the disbelievers, in terms of being useless and wasted in the Hereafter, are likened to the crops of those who wronged themselves, which appear lush and green, but suddenly a severe cold wind blows and destroys them completely. This is the state of the charity and welfare works of the disbelievers; since they are deprived of the wealth of faith and sincerity, their deeds will be destroyed in the Hereafter and they will not receive any reward for those deeds. See also Surah Al-Furqan (23) and Surah An-Nur (39, 40). However, the disbelievers will receive the reward for their good deeds in this world only. See Surah Al-Ahqaf (20). {’’صِرٌّ ‘‘} A severe cold wind that burns the crops. It should be noted that in the Qur'an, generally the word {’’رِيْحٌ‘‘} is used for punishment, and {”رِيَاحٌ“} (a plural word) is used for mercy. (Mufradat) In Surah Yunus (22), the word {’’رِيْحٌ‘‘} is used for a favorable wind: «وَجَرَيْنَبِهِمْبِرِيْحٍطَيِّبَةٍ » In other places, it is used for a wind of punishment.
➋ {وَمَاظَلَمَهُمُاللّٰهُ …:} That is, their deeds which were wasted and destroyed, this is not because Allah wronged them, but it is the result of wronging themselves. Because they neither affirmed Allah and His messengers and books, nor did they act purely for Allah, rather, they kept showing off.
