Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 106) {اَكَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ اِيْمَانِكُمْ:} Apparently, this refers to apostates, but in reality, it includes all disbelievers, because it is established that at the very beginning, everyone acknowledged Allah Almighty as Lord, and in the hadith it is also stated that every person is born upon the natural religion, therefore, whoever adopts disbelief does so only after having believed. That is why the scholars have written that in this verse, original disbelievers, apostates, hypocrites, and then the people of innovation are all included, because all of them are disbelieving after having believed. (Razi, Shawkani) Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) writes: "It is understood that those whose faces are blackened are those who disbelieve while being Muslims, who utter the words of Islam with their mouths but hold contrary beliefs; this is the ruling for all misguided sects."
