Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 102) ➊ {اتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهٖ … :} Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates the explanation of this verse as follows: "He should be obeyed and not disobeyed, He should be remembered and not forgotten, He should be thanked and not shown ingratitude." [ ابن أبی حاتم : 112/3۔ مستدرک حاکم : 323/2، ح : ۳۱۵۹ ] Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) has declared the chain of this statement to be Sahih; the meaning is according to one's ability, as Allah Almighty has said: «فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ » [ التغابن : ۱۶ ] "So fear Allah as much as you are able."
{وَ لَا تَمُوْتُنَّ اِلَّا وَ اَنْتُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ:} Since there is no knowledge of when death will come, therefore, fear Allah in this way at all times until death arrives.
