Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Say (to them O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Sufficient is Allâh for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth." And those who believe in Bâtil (all false deities other than Allâh), and disbelieve in Allâh and (in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 52) ➊ {قُلْكَفٰىبِاللّٰهِبَيْنِيْوَبَيْنَكُمْشَهِيْدًا:} This is another answer to the disbelievers denying you, as He said: «{ وَيَقُوْلُالَّذِيْنَكَفَرُوْالَسْتَمُرْسَلًاقُلْكَفٰىبِاللّٰهِشَهِيْدًۢابَيْنِيْوَبَيْنَكُمْوَمَنْعِنْدَهٗعِلْمُالْكِتٰبِ }»[ الرعد : ۴۳ ] "And those who disbelieve say, 'You are not a Messenger.' Say, 'Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you, and [so is] he who has knowledge of the Book.'" That is, if you deny me, then Allah is a witness between me and you, and His testimony is sufficient. He knows well your denial and rebellion, and my truthfulness and goodwill. If I were to fabricate a lie against Him, He would surely take revenge on me, because He does not leave such people without retribution, as He Himself says: «{ وَلَوْتَقَوَّلَعَلَيْنَابَعْضَالْاَقَاوِيْل (44) لَاَخَذْنَامِنْهُبِالْيَمِيْنِ (45) ثُمَّلَقَطَعْنَامِنْهُالْوَتِيْنَ (46) فَمَامِنْكُمْمِّنْاَحَدٍعَنْهُحٰجِزِيْنَ }»[ الحاقۃ : ۴۴ تا ۴۷ ] "And if he had made up about Us some [false] sayings, We would have seized him by the right hand; then We would have cut from him the aorta, and none of you could have prevented [Us] from him." Since my truthfulness is clear to Him, that I am His messenger and I convey to you what He has said in His name, therefore He is supporting me and granting me dominance day by day, and He continues to support me with clear miracles and decisive proofs. (Ibn Kathir)
➋ {يَعْلَمُمَافِيالسَّمٰوٰتِوَالْاَرْضِ:} That is, nothing is hidden from Him, neither my conveying the message of Prophethood nor your denial. He will judge on the Day of Resurrection according to His knowledge.
➌ {وَالَّذِيْنَاٰمَنُوْابِالْبَاطِلِ … :} Those who believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allah, they are the real losers, because they abandoned the truth and adopted falsehood. Then what loss could be greater than this? On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will recompense them for this.
