Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 62) ➊ { وَيَوْمَيُنَادِيْهِمْ … :} These verses also pertain to the polytheists of Makkah, who, for worldly interests, clung to shirk and to the standard-bearers of shirk. They are being informed of the outcome of this evil deed. Because the words are general, their relation is also to all disbelievers. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will call out to them and ask two questions; the purpose of both questions is not to inquire, but to humiliate them and to express the helplessness and powerlessness of their partners.
➋ { فَيَقُوْلُاَيْنَشُرَكَآءِيَالَّذِيْنَكُنْتُمْتَزْعُمُوْنَ:} This is the first question that Allah will call out to the polytheists and ask them: Where are My partners about whom you had assumed that they possessed the power to benefit or harm you, and that worldly benefits were being obtained through them, or that they would intercede and free you? See Surah Al-An'am (94).
