Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 31) ➊ { وَ اَنْ اَلْقِ عَصَاكَ:} Here, some words are omitted, that when he threw his staff, it suddenly became a snake.
{ فَلَمَّا رَاٰهَا تَهْتَزُّ …:} So when he saw it moving... For the reconciliation of {’’ جَآنٌّ ‘‘} and {’’ ثُعْبَانٌ ‘‘}, see Surah An-Naml (10).
{ وَلّٰى مُدْبِرًا وَّ لَمْ يُعَقِّبْ:} That is, he became so frightened that he did not just move to one side, but turned his back and ran away, not even looking back lest the snake might catch up with him.
{ يٰمُوْسٰۤى اَقْبِلْ وَ لَا تَخَفْ:} Allah Almighty called out, O Musa! Instead of running away, come forward, for you are among those who are secure. { ’’إِنَّ‘‘ } is used to state the reason. In Surah Ta-Ha (21) it is mentioned: "Seize it and do not fear, We will return it to its former state." For further benefits, see Surah Ta-Ha (21).
