سُوْرَةُ الْقَصَصِ
Surah Al-Qasas (28) — Ayah 31
وَأَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْـَٔامِنِينَ ﴿31﴾

"And throw your stick!" But when he saw it moving as if it were a snake, he turned in flight, and looked not back. (It was said:) "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Draw near, and fear not. Verily, you are of those who are secure.

(Ayah 31) ➊ { وَ اَنْ اَلْقِ عَصَاكَ:} Here, some words are omitted, that when he threw his staff, it suddenly became a snake.
➋ { فَلَمَّا رَاٰهَا تَهْتَزُّ …:} So when he saw it moving... For the reconciliation of {’’ جَآنٌّ ‘‘} and {’’ ثُعْبَانٌ ‘‘}, see Surah An-Naml (10).
➌ { وَلّٰى مُدْبِرًا وَّ لَمْ يُعَقِّبْ:} That is, he became so frightened that he did not just move to one side, but turned his back and ran away, not even looking back lest the snake might catch up with him.
➍ { يٰمُوْسٰۤى اَقْبِلْ وَ لَا تَخَفْ:} Allah Almighty called out, O Musa! Instead of running away, come forward, for you are among those who are secure. { ’’إِنَّ‘‘ } is used to state the reason. In Surah Ta-Ha (21) it is mentioned: "Seize it and do not fear, We will return it to its former state." For further benefits, see Surah Ta-Ha (21).
