So he became afraid, looking about in the city (waiting as to what will be the result of his crime of killing), when behold, the man who had sought his help the day before, called for his help (again). Mûsâ (Moses) said to him: "Verily, you are a plain misleader!"

(Ayah 19,18) {فَاَصْبَحَفِيالْمَدِيْنَةِخَآىِٕفًايَّتَرَقَّبُ …:} The Copt was killed at the hands of Musa (Moses) عليه السلام, so he spent the morning in the city in a state of fear because of yesterday’s incident, waiting to see what its outcome would be and when someone would come to arrest him. Suddenly, he saw that the same Israelite who had asked him for help yesterday to save him from a Copt was now fighting with another Copt. When Musa عليه السلام passed by, he began to cry out loudly, calling him for help. Musa عليه السلام was distressed by yesterday’s incident and said to him, “Surely, you are an obvious misguided person,” meaning you keep fighting and quarreling with someone every day; yesterday you were fighting with one person, today you have picked a quarrel with another. The point was that because of you, I killed a person yesterday, and now you have created the same situation again. Then, as soon as Musa عليه السلام intended to catch hold of that Copt, since he had just scolded the Israelite, the Israelite became frightened by Musa عليه السلام’s demeanor and thought that he wanted to catch him. To save his life, he said, “Musa! Do you want to kill me as well, just as you killed a man yesterday?” Before this, no one except Musa and the Israelite knew this secret. When the Copt heard this, he immediately went and informed Pharaoh. Pharaoh became extremely enraged and convened a meeting of his chiefs, deciding that there was no solution except to kill Musa. {’’ فَلَمَّاۤاَنْاَرَادَ ‘‘} For the benefit of {’’ اَنْ ‘‘}, see Surah Yusuf (96).
