Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 63) ➊ { اَمَّنْ يَّهْدِيْكُمْ فِيْ ظُلُمٰتِ الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ :} That is, or is He better Who has arranged through the stars such a system that you can find your way even in the darkness of the night. This too is among the wise arrangements of Allah Almighty that He has created such means for the guidance of man in journeys by land and sea, by which he determines his direction, journey, and destination. During the day, various landmarks of the earth and the directions of sunrise and sunset help him, and in the dark nights, the stars guide him. In Surah An-Nahl, all these have been counted among the favors of Allah Almighty, as He said: «{ وَ عَلٰمٰتٍ وَ بِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُوْنَ [ النحل : ۱۶ ] “And He made landmarks, and by the stars they are guided.” (Tafheem-ul-Quran) Then, by placing the property of indicating direction in the magnet and making His servants aware of it, is a great blessing of Allah Almighty for guidance on land and sea and during day and night.

{ وَ مَنْ يُّرْسِلُ الرِّيٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهٖ:} By mercy here is meant rain, the coming of which is foretold by the winds before it arrives.
