Surah An-Naml (27) — Ayah 50
وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿50﴾

So they plotted a plot, and We plotted a plot, while they perceived not.

(Ayah 51,50) {وَ مَكَرُوْا مَكْرًا وَّ مَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا … :} Their plot was the scheme upon which they had sworn mutual oaths, and Allah’s plan was that, just as with other prophets, He safely brought out Salih (peace be upon him) and his companions from there. No sooner had they left than a severe earthquake struck that city, in fact, the entire region of the people of Thamud, as He said: «{ فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ }» [ الأعراف : ۷۸ ] “So the earthquake seized them.” Along with it was a terrifying shriek, as He said: «{ وَ اَخَذَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ } » [ ھود : ۶۷۔ القمر : ۳۱ ] “And those who had wronged were seized by the shriek.” By which their settlements were destroyed, and those nine (9) mischief-makers and the people of their nation were all destroyed.
