Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 24) {وَجَدْتُّهَا وَ قَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُوْنَ لِلشَّمْسِ …:} That is, when every kind of blessing was available, it was necessary that they worship the One who granted these blessings and prostrate to Him alone. But I have seen that instead, she and her people prostrate to the sun, and Satan has made their deeds attractive to them and has prevented them from the right path; therefore, they do not receive guidance. That is, the reason for their not being guided is that Satan has adorned the worship of the sun in their eyes, so they consider themselves to be on the truth. Now, if a person walking on the wrong path becomes convinced that he is going the right way and becomes hostile to the one who points out his mistake, then he can never come to the straight path. By saying this, the hoopoe, as it were, drew the attention of Solomon (peace be upon him) towards waging jihad against this nation. Here, the act of making deeds attractive is attributed to Satan, because he makes sins appealing in the eyes of people. Elsewhere, the act of making deeds attractive for the disbelievers is attributed to Allah Almighty, as in verse (4) of this very surah, because the Creator of every action of the creation is Allah Almighty. Abraham (peace be upon him) addressed his people and said: «{وَ اللّٰهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَ مَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ [ الصافات : ۹۶ ] "Whereas Allah is the One who created you and also that which you do."
