Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 12) ➊ { وَ اَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ فِيْ جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَآءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوْٓءٍ:} In the present Torah, the second book Exodus, chapter (4), verse (6), it is written that the hand of Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him) was leprous. Since the Noble Qur’an has come as a guardian over the previous scriptures, wherever there is any error in them, it corrects it, therefore it is stated here: « مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوْٓءٍ» that is, it was not leprous. (Thanai)

{فِيْ تِسْعِ اٰيٰتٍ …:} That is, these two miracles are among those nine (9) signs through which I helped you. For the details of these nine miracles, see Surah Bani Isra’il (17:101). Some have said that these two signs (the staff and the shining hand) were in addition to the nine (9) signs; in that case, {’’ فِيْ ‘‘} would mean {’’ مَعَ‘‘}, and the translation would be “along with nine miracles.” (Qurtubi)
