Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
By both the subject {’’ رَبَّكَ ‘‘} and the predicate {’’ الْعَزِيْزُالرَّحِيْمُ ‘‘} of {وَاِنَّرَبَّكَلَهُوَالْعَزِيْزُالرَّحِيْمُ : ’’ اِنَّ ‘‘} being definite, the meaning of restriction is being conveyed, and by bringing the pronoun {’’ لَهُوَ ‘‘} in between, further emphasis is added to the restriction. That is, it is your Lord alone who is dominant over all; there is none dominant besides Him. He is the One with mighty power, able to do whatever He wills; He can seize them for their disobedience in the blink of an eye. Yet, He is also Merciful; upon repentance, He forgives a lifetime of disobedience. That is why they are being given opportunity after opportunity to come to their senses, and He is not seizing them for their rebellion.
