Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 7) {اَوَ لَمْ يَرَوْا اِلَى الْاَرْضِ …: } In reality, the conjunction "waw" comes first and the interrogative "hamzah" comes after; since the interrogative "hamzah" is placed at the beginning of the sentence, the conjunction "waw" is placed after it. The conjunction "waw" indicates that there is a preceding omitted sentence which is understood by itself, that is, {’’أَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَی السَّمَاءِ وَ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَي الْأَرْضِ‘‘} "Have they not looked towards the sky, and have they not looked towards the earth?" This brevity is a miracle of the speech of Allah. (Biqā‘ī) That is, if they deny the verses sent down upon the Messenger and mock them, then what is so surprising in this? Have they not seen the sky, the earth, and all kinds of countless, most excellent things found therein before this? If they were to believe in their Creator and Master and in His oneness, then was all this not sufficient as evidence? When they did not take heed from this, then how will they take heed from the verses revealed to you?
