Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 218 to 220) ➊ {الَّذِيْيَرٰىكَحِيْنَتَقُوْمُ …:} That is, put your trust in this Almighty and Merciful One who is watching you at all times, even when you stand up—whether you stand in the night for prayer, or for fulfilling the duty of invitation and jihad, or for any other task—and He is also watching your moving about among your companions, whose special characteristic is that they are among those who prostrate. He said: «{ تَرٰىهُمْرُكَّعًاسُجَّدًايَّبْتَغُوْنَفَضْلًامِّنَاللّٰهِوَرِضْوَانًاسِيْمَاهُمْفِيْوُجُوْهِهِمْمِّنْاَثَرِالسُّجُوْدِ }»[ الفتح : ۲۹ ] "You will see them bowing and prostrating, seeking bounty from their Lord and (His) pleasure; their mark is on their faces." When you are changing your posture in congregational prayer with them, sometimes in prostration with them, sometimes in bowing, sometimes standing, and when you are moving about with these who prostrate in the work of invitation or jihad, then your Lord is watching you at all times, and in this standing and moving about, whatever you say, He hears it, and whatever you do, He knows it, because He alone is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Therefore, put your trust in Him from whose sight you are not hidden for even a moment; He will never leave you without support.
➋ In these verses, there is also an indication that whoever attentively observes the day and night activities of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions can never say that these people could have any connection with Satan.
