سُوْرَةُ الشُّعَرَآءِ
Surah Ash-Shu'araa (26) — Ayah 210
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ﴿210﴾

And it is not the Shayâtîn (devils) who have brought it (this Qur’ân) down.

(Ayah 210) {وَ مَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيٰطِيْنُ :} After mentioning that this Quran is revealed by the Lord of the worlds, which Jibreel Amin brought down upon your heart, now those people are refuted who used to say that this revelation is brought to Muhammad (peace be upon him) by devils. As Jundub bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, once the coming of Jibreel (peace be upon him) was delayed, so a woman from the Quraysh said: {’’أَبْطَأَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْطَانُهُ‘‘} "His devil has delayed in coming to him." Upon this, these verses were revealed: «{ وَ الضُّحٰى (1) وَ الَّيْلِ اِذَا سَجٰى (2) مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَ مَا قَلٰى }» [ الضحٰی : ۱ تا ۳ ] "By the morning brightness! And by the night when it covers! Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased." [ بخاري، التہجد، باب ترک القیام للمریض : ۱۱۲۵ ] Allah Almighty says that the devils do not descend with this Quran, for it to be magic, soothsaying, poetry, or incoherent dreams, because these are the assets of the devils. Then Allah Almighty has mentioned three reasons why it is impossible for the devils.
