Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 195) ➊ { بِلِسَانٍعَرَبِيٍّ:} It is understood that not only were the meanings and concepts of the Noble Qur’an revealed to the Prophet (peace be upon him), for which he then clothed them in words, but rather, it was revealed to him in the form of words in the Arabic language. Some people deny that Allah the Exalted speaks with words; this verse and many other verses refute them. The reality is that this is the miraculous speech of Allah the Exalted in the Arabic language, which is His distinction; even if all creation were to gather, they would be unable to bring forth not only the meanings but even the words like it. ➋ { مُبِيْنٍ :} That is, the disbelievers’ refusal to believe in it is not due to any deficiency in its explanation, but rather due to their own incapacity or stubbornness, because it is in the most eloquent language, Arabic, among all languages, and in such Arabic which is not the language of riddles or puzzles, but “clear Arabic.” There is not a single word or expression in it that is not commonly used among the Arabs, nor is there any deficiency in conveying the meaning. Those who are not believing in it have absolutely no excuse that they could not understand it.
