Surah Ash-Shu'araa (26) — Ayah 184
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿184﴾

(Ayah 184) {وَ اتَّقُوا الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ وَ الْجِبِلَّةَ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ:} Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) began his conversation with {’’ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ ‘‘}, and now, to emphasize this same taqwa, he said: Fear your Lord who created you and the generations before you. If He created you, He can also annihilate you. In this, there is also an exhortation to tawheed: when there is no partner with Him in creation, then why do you associate partners with Him in worship? The Muslim Ummah has also been commanded by Allah Almighty to worship Him with this same reasoning, as He said: «{ يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اعْبُدُوْا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ وَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُوْنَ }» [ البقرۃ : ۲۱ ] "O mankind! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you, so that you may be saved."
