Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 139) ➊ {فَكَذَّبُوْهُفَاَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ:} Allah Almighty punished many nations through water, and those people who were very proud of their strength and power, Allah Almighty punished them through wind, which possesses far greater strength and power than water. This punishment came in the form of a storm that blew upon them continuously for seven nights and eight days, and it destroyed everything they had. See Surah Ha Mim As-Sajdah (16), Al-Ahqaf (24, 25), and Al-Haqqah (6, 7). ➋ { اِنَّفِيْذٰلِكَلَاٰيَةً …:} Indeed, in the story of these people there is a great lesson for the polytheists of Makkah, but neither did most of them believe, nor are most of them believers.
