Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The word in (Ayah 106){ اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوْهُمْ نُوْحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ : ’’ اَخُوْهُمْ ‘‘} clarifies the genealogical connection of Noah (peace be upon him) with them and indicates the goodwill that Noah (peace be upon him) had towards his people because he was one of them. It is also understood that messengers are only human, and wisdom also demands this, because only a human can be a model for humans, not an angel or anyone else. However, at that time, the disbelievers did not accept him as a prophet because he was human, and now there are some ignorant people who accept him as a prophet but, because he is a prophet, do not accept him as human. The belief of both is the same: that a human cannot be a prophet. The Quran has refuted this belief repeatedly.

At other places, the address of Noah (peace be upon him) begins with these words: «{ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهٗ اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ [ المؤمنون : ۲۳ ] "O my people! Worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. Will you not fear?" And it is said: «{ اَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَ اتَّقُوْهُ وَ اَطِيْعُوْنِ [ نوح : ۳ ] "Worship Allah and fear Him and obey me." The wisdom in beginning the invitation with instilling fear is that unless a person or a nation is made to feel the danger of the bad consequences of their wrong behavior, they are not ready to pay attention to the right thing. Our Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also gathered his close relatives and, standing on Safa, said the same: [ فَإِنِّيْ نَذِيْرٌ لَّكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيْدٍ ] [ بخاري، التفسیر، باب : «و أنذر عشیرتک الأقربین… » : ۴۷۷۰ ] "I am a warner to you before a severe punishment."
