Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 11,10) ➊ { وَاِذْنَادٰىرَبُّكَمُوْسٰۤى:} From here, for admonition, a few incidents of the earlier nations have been mentioned, the purpose of which is that the consequence of denying the signs of Allah and mocking them is destruction. In other words, these incidents are meant to support and clarify the previous verse: «{فَسَيَاْتِيْهِمْ۠اَنْۢبٰٓؤُامَاكَانُوْابِهٖيَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ }». (Shawkani) Besides this, the purpose is also to console the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the believers. For this, the beginning is made with the incidents of Musa (peace be upon him) and then Ibrahim (peace be upon him), because there are many things in which they share with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), such as migration, striving in the way of Allah, and the desire to attain the sacred land, etc. Musa (peace be upon him) was given that book which, after the Quran, is the most comprehensive book, and he was given many miracles. In the Quran, his mention and the mention of his people is the most frequent. ➋ This incident has already passed in detail in Surah Al-Baqarah, Al-A'raf, and Ta-Ha, and it is also coming ahead in Surah Al-Qasas. ➌ { اَنِائْتِالْقَوْمَالظّٰلِمِيْنَ :} The name of this nation was Qibt (Copts), they were called oppressors because by committing disbelief and polytheism they were wronging themselves, they considered Pharaoh as the supreme lord, and by enslaving the Children of Israel, killing their sons, and keeping their women alive, they were also oppressing them. ➍ { اَلَايَتَّقُوْنَ :} He says,, these people are continuously committing excessive oppression and tyranny, do they not fear that there is someone who will call them to account!!
