Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days. Then He (Istawâ ) rose over the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). The Most Gracious (Allâh)! Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 59) ➊ {الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا … :} Its exegesis has already passed in Surah Yunus, Hud, and Ta-Ha. Here, the mention of these attributes is also to encourage reliance upon Allah, and in this is also an indication towards the answer to the objection regarding the gradual revelation of the Qur’an.

{ فَسْـَٔلْ بِهٖ خَبِيْرًا:} “The All-Aware” refers to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted Himself, and {’’ بِهٖ ‘‘} refers to {’’عَنْهُ‘‘} (regarding it). In this verse, further actions and attributes have been mentioned for which one should rely upon Allah, that is, rely upon Him who is always living, upon whom death will never come, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself above the Throne, who is exceedingly merciful. The meaning is that regarding the creation of the heavens and the earth, the establishment upon the Throne, and His limitless mercy, what do the People of the Book or the polytheists know? The correct knowledge of their details is only with Allah, so ask Him alone. Elsewhere He said: «{ وَ لَا يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثْلُ خَبِيْرٍ [ فاطر : ۱۴ ] “And none will inform you like the One who is fully aware.” That is, none is as fully aware as Allah.
