Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 56) { وَمَاۤاَرْسَلْنٰكَاِلَّامُبَشِّرًاوَّنَذِيْرًا :} In this verse, there is comfort for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and a warning for the disbelievers, meaning that if the disbelievers do not believe and do not refrain from enmity and opposition towards Allah, His Messenger, and the believers, then its responsibility is not upon you. Your duty is only to give glad tidings to those who accept the truth and to warn those who reject it, and that is all. The disbelievers are being made to understand that the Messenger whom you are so determined to oppose is, from head to toe, your well-wisher. He is the one who gives you the glad tidings of Paradise upon accepting faith and warns you of Allah’s punishment upon rejecting faith. Is it befitting for you to harbor enmity against such a well-wisher?
