سُوْرَةُ الْفُرْقَانِ
Surah Al-Furqaan (25) — Ayah 49
لِّنُحْـِۧىَ بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا وَنُسْقِيَهُۥ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَآ أَنْعَـٰمًا وَأَنَاسِىَّ كَثِيرًا ﴿49﴾

That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that We had created.

(Ayah 49) ➊ {لِنُحْيِۧ بِهٖ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا وَّ نُسْقِيَهٗ …: ’’ اَنَاسِيَّ ‘‘ ’’ أَنْسِيٌّ‘‘} is the plural of {’’كُرْسِيٌّ‘‘}, just as: the plural of {’’كَرَاسِيُّ‘‘} is {’’إِنْسَانٌ‘‘}, or it is the plural of {’’أَنَاسِيْنُ‘‘}, which was originally {’’ظَرْبَانٌ‘‘}, just as: the plural of {’’ظَرَابِيُّ‘‘} (an animal like a cat) is {’’سَقٰي يَسْقِيْ‘‘}, then the final noon was changed to yaa and the yaa was assimilated into the yaa. {’’أَسْقٰي يُسْقِيْ‘‘} means to give to drink, __QUR_9__ means to make someone drink, to provide for drinking.
➋ If the water of the sea in its original state is given to crops, the crops wither and are destroyed, and if any living being drinks it, it will cut up its intestines, or at the very least injure them. But when the vapors of this same sea water are transferred into rain, then whether it is plants, animals, or humans, this water proves to be life-giving for all; the crops begin to flourish, and living creatures rejoice and sway with happiness at the arrival of winds even before the rain falls. Living creatures obtain food from plants, and Allah Almighty gives them pure, clean water to drink. Except for inanimate objects, there is no creature on this earthly universe whose life can be sustained without water. (Kilani)
➌ In these two verses as well, the oneness of Allah, the proofs of life after death, and the reminder of Allah’s blessings—all three things are present.
