Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 46) ➊ { ثُمَّقَبَضْنٰهُاِلَيْنَا …:} That is, by gradually diminishing it, We completely erase it, just as the shadow gradually decreases as the sun rises, until at midday it is completely gone. Similarly, as the sun inclines towards the west, the shadow is gradually increased, and with the coming of night, it is gathered back to Us.
➋ Gathering it to Us means to make it disappear and annihilate it, because everything returns only to Allah; everything comes from Him and goes back to Him. Thus, it is said: «{ وَلِلّٰهِغَيْبُالسَّمٰوٰتِوَالْاَرْضِوَاِلَيْهِيُرْجَعُالْاَمْرُكُلُّهٗ }»[ ھود : ۱۲۳ ] "And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth, and all matters are returned to Him."
➌ {قَبْضًايَّسِيْرًا :} That is, so gradually that it is extremely difficult to fully perceive its gathering.
