وَكُلًّا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًا ﴿39﴾
And for each (of them) We put forward examples (as proofs and lessons), and each (of them) We brought to utter ruin (because of their disbelief and evil deeds).
وَكُلًّۭا wakullan And each
ضَرَبْنَا ḍarabnā We have set forth
لَهُ lahu for him
ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ l-amthāla the examples
وَكُلًّۭا wakullan and each
تَبَّرْنَا tabbarnā We destroyed
تَتْبِيرًۭا tatbīran (with) destruction

(Ayah 39) ➊ { وَ كُلًّا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ الْاَمْثَالَ:} That is, We explained to each one by giving examples and arguments. It can also mean that We explained to each one by mentioning the examples of the previously destroyed nations.

{ وَ كُلًّا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيْرًا : ’’ تَبَّرَ يُتَبِّرُ تَتْبِيْرًا ‘‘} To break something into pieces and fragments.
