And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Qur’ân), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
The meaning of (Ayah 33){ وَلَايَاْتُوْنَكَبِمَثَلٍ … : ’’مَثَلٌ‘‘ } is also something similar to another thing, a proverb or saying, and also an attribute of something, as He said: «{ مَثَلُالْجَنَّةِالَّتِيْوُعِدَالْمُتَّقُوْنَ }»[ الرعد : ۳۵ ] “The description of the Paradise which the righteous have been promised.” (Raghib) From the beginning of the Surah, Allah Almighty has mentioned five objections of the disbelievers and has given crushing answers to all of them. In the end, as a summary, He said that the doubts, suspicions, and criticisms that these people have raised, or will raise until the Day of Judgment, We have given and will continue to give such answers to all of them that are entirely true and very clear, not false or unclear like their statements. By {’’ مَثَلٌ‘‘} is meant those questions, demands, and objections which they presented to you, and by {’’اَلْحَقُّ‘‘} is meant the removal of doubt and the answer to the question. (Shawkani) See, their first objection was: «{ وَقَالَالَّذِيْنَكَفَرُوْۤااِنْهٰذَاۤاِلَّاۤاِفْكٌافْتَرٰىهُوَاَعَانَهٗعَلَيْهِقَوْمٌاٰخَرُوْنَ }»[ الفرقان : ۴ ] and in this context was: { وَقَالُوْۤااَسَاطِيْرُالْاَوَّلِيْنَاكْتَتَبَهَافَهِيَتُمْلٰىعَلَيْهِبُكْرَةًوَّاَصِيْلًا }[ الفرقان : ۵ ] The second objection was: «{ وَقَالُوْامَالِهٰذَاالرَّسُوْلِيَاْكُلُالطَّعَامَوَيَمْشِيْفِيالْاَسْوَاقِلَوْلَاۤاُنْزِلَاِلَيْهِمَلَكٌفَيَكُوْنَمَعَهٗنَذِيْرًا (7) اَوْيُلْقٰۤىاِلَيْهِكَنْزٌاَوْتَكُوْنُلَهٗجَنَّةٌيَّاْكُلُمِنْهَا }»[الفرقان : ۷، ۸ ] The third objection was: «{ وَقَالَالظّٰلِمُوْنَاِنْتَتَّبِعُوْنَاِلَّارَجُلًامَّسْحُوْرًا }»[ الفرقان: ۸ ] The fourth objection was: «{ وَقَالَالَّذِيْنَلَايَرْجُوْنَلِقَآءَنَالَوْلَاۤاُنْزِلَعَلَيْنَاالْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةُاَوْنَرٰىرَبَّنَا }»[ الفرقان : ۲۱ ] And the fifth objection was: «{ وَقَالَالَّذِيْنَكَفَرُوْالَوْلَانُزِّلَعَلَيْهِالْقُرْاٰنُجُمْلَةًوَّاحِدَةً }»[ الفرقان : ۳۲ ] The reason for calling these objections “examples” is that Allah Almighty, after mentioning their third objection {’’ وَقَالَالظّٰلِمُوْنَاِنْتَتَّبِعُوْنَاِلَّارَجُلًامَّسْحُوْرًا ‘‘}, said: «{ اُنْظُرْكَيْفَضَرَبُوْالَكَالْاَمْثَالَفَضَلُّوْافَلَايَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَسَبِيْلًا }»[الفرقان : ۹ ] “See how they set forth examples for you, so they have gone astray, and they cannot find a way.” (Ibn Ashur)
