Surah Al-Furqaan (25) — Ayah 31

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّا مِّنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَنَصِيرًا ﴿31﴾
Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, criminals). But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ wakadhālika And thus
جَعَلْنَا jaʿalnā We have made
لِكُلِّ likulli for every
نَبِىٍّ nabiyyin Prophet
عَدُوًّۭا ʿaduwwan an enemy
مِّنَ mina among
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ l-muj'rimīna the criminals
وَكَفَىٰ wakafā But sufficient is
بِرَبِّكَ birabbika your Lord
هَادِيًۭا hādiyan (as) a Guide
وَنَصِيرًۭا wanaṣīran and a Helper

(Ayah 31) ➊ { وَ كَذٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا مِّنَ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ :} Since this complaint expressed the burning of the heart and intense grief, in this verse the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Muslims are comforted that the behavior of those who abandon the Qur’an is not unique to you, but the same happened with previous prophets as well. See Surah Al-An’am (112, 123).

{ وَ كَفٰى بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَّ نَصِيْرًا:} In this, two glad tidings are given to the Prophet (peace be upon him): one is that among those who are now turning away, many will accept guidance, or those who come from their descendants will accept guidance, just as the angel of the mountains came by Allah’s command and offered the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that if you wish, I will bring together the two mountains of Makkah upon them, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: [ بَلْ أَرْجُوْ أَنْ يُّخْرِجَ اللّٰهُ مِنْ أَصْلاَبِهِمْ مَنْ يَّعْبُدُ اللّٰهَ وَحْدَهُ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا ] [ بخاري، بدء الخلق، باب إذا قال أحدکم آمین … : ۳۲۳۱ ] “Rather, I hope that Allah will bring forth from their descendants people who will worship Allah alone and not associate anything with Him.” And the second glad tiding is of divine help. In {’’ وَ كَفٰى بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَّ نَصِيْرًا ‘‘} there is also an indication that entrust all your affairs to Him, because He alone is sufficient for guidance and help. (Ibn Ashur)
